Lives and works in Paris
Xavier de Vilmorin develops a sensitive and instinctive pictorial language, shaped by color, memory and inner narratives.
His work moves between contemporary figuration, geometric forms and emotional abstraction, creating compositions where color becomes a space for intimacy, rhythm and projection.
Biography
Xavier de Vilmorin is a French artist based in Paris. Rooted in drawing from an early age, his practice unfolds through painting, pastel and oil, developing a visual language where color, form and memory become deeply intertwined.
His work moves between contemporary figuration and emotional abstraction, often bringing together geometric structures, intimate scenes and dreamlike compositions. Through bold contrasts and sensitive gestures, Xavier de Vilmorin creates images that feel both personal and universal — fragments of inner landscapes where emotion quietly takes shape.
His solo exhibition " Naître à soi " at H.D Galerie marked a defining moment in his recent trajectory, revealing a body of work shaped by intimacy, transformation and the search for one’s own visual language.

Exhibition
" Naître à soi "
H.D Galerie, Paris
November — December 2025
" Naître à soi " speaks of rebirth — the moment when one chooses to free oneself from what holds them back, in order to breathe more fully and become more deeply oneself.
In this series, Xavier de Vilmorin works with fabrics that already carry a history: traces, patterns and colors from another life. By transforming them through painting, he offers them a new existence — more conscious, more free, more affirmed.
Through color, gesture and matter, the exhibition pays tribute to the vital energy that pushes us to free ourselves from the gaze of others and to be reborn — more true, more alive
